Fra svigermors skattekiste - From mother-in-law's treasury chest
Dette mellomverket fikk jeg to av. Putetrekkene er dessverre ikke i stand, men jeg skal prøve å redde de flotte bisene under motivet.
In 2005 my parents-in-law moved to a small appartment after living in a large house the whole life. It was my mother-in-law's childhood home, so she stayed there for 86 years! We helped them to move, and during the process I received a lot of beautiful crafts. It has been stored away since the move, but today I opened the box to see which goodies I'd got.
I got to of these lovely crocheted insertions. The pillowcases are sadly not useable, but I'll try to save the great sewing details beneath the crochet.
Here is an apron which I think my mother-in-law made at school. With tiny stitches and a very thin crochet yarn, the edging around the neck is incredibly well done. And then we have the same monogram. :-)
Nå er det symøte. Gleder meg :o)
Here are quite a few meters of insertions. Stained by age, but still good quality. I've been wondering for a long time what to use it for. I'm open for suggestions.
Now it's sewing bee-time. I'm looking forward to it :o)
