Kok med bok: Biscotti - Cook with book: Biscotti
Then I'm onto the challenge I've given myself. First book is Gøril Wiker's book 'Lyst på livet!' (Enjoying life!). It's quite a few years since I bought it, but the first time I looked through it, I noticed the recipe for biscotti (mostly because of the photo). Today it was time to test it.
"Roast the almonds" was the first instruction. Ok, how do you do that? A quick search on Google suggested 10 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees celsius. I did so, but that was maybe a bit too warm and long. They became a tad too tanned. The dough was mixed in the food processor and placed on the tray as two flat sausages. First they were baked, then cut up and finally dried in the oven.
Today's kitchen activities forced the Man to wait a bit for dinner (he knew about it in advance :-D). So to calm his stomach, he tasted the biscottis. The taste was good, but they were a bit hard, he said. But aren't that how they're supposed to be?
