Jeg greide det! - Yes, I did it!
What I like the least with my work is the demand for a physical test. I'm employed as a captain in the Norwegian Army, and even though I'm only a musician, the Army demands the same physical standards as of regular officers in the Army. I have a steady job, and can not be appointed to anything else, and I've also reached as high as I can in the system without converting to administration, so for me the test is only nescessary for the appearance on my record. I must admit that I haven't taken the test for some years now, but now I've decided that it's actually quite childish to protest the system in this way. Today was the day that I was going to conquer the 3000 meter running test.
The Man followed me as support and photographer. I have to admit I was quite nervous since it's ages since I've pushed myself though a race like this against the clock, but I was determined to pass the test. This picture is taken after 500 meters, and then I felt quite fit actually. That feeling didn't continue, and the last kilometre was heavy and painful. But I did it! The result was not a record, neither local nor personal, but the important thing is that I'm within what the Army conciders as acceptable.
Today, four of us took the test, and we all passed. Congratulations to us all! :-D
