Paris dag 2 - Paris day 2
Day 2 began with a tasty breakfast at the hotel. Egg and bacon, assorted patisserie (bakery goods) and fresh juice was tasty. I've decided to read at least one article from a French jouarnal every day, and yesterday's headline in Le Figaro was not enjoyable to read. The danger of terrorist attack in Europe, also in Paris, is definately present, even thoug they mean that an attack is some time away. With this in or head we went out in the city. We returned to Champs Elyssées and went down between Petit Palais and Grand Palais which is to grand and beautiful buildings which houses several museums.
On the way over Pont Alexandre III we spotted a japanese couple tkaing their wedding shots with the Eiffel Tower ehind them. I just hope that one of the photographer's lens is okay. It went on the ground quite hard.
Our first goal for the day was Musée d'Orsay, whcih is an old, rebuilt railwaystation where you can seeworks from the impresxsionist era. On our way there, we experienced something that I found a bit unpleasant. A mn came up to uswith what seemed to be a gold ring and wondered if we had lost it. What he wanted was to beg for money. We understood the trick, and when an elderly women tried the same later, we just ignored her.
Chaillot was a disappointment. It's actually a nice square between to large pavillions where you see straight on the Eiffel Tower. On the square you find gold plated statues of women, and one of hte "because I'm worth it"-commersials is mae here. But yesterday the square was filled with people tring to sell cheap and ugly copies of the tower and other tourist stuff.
Resten av dag to må komme senere. Nå skal vi ta toget ut til Versailles og tilbringe dagen der. A bientôt!
The rest of day two must come later Now we're going to take the train ot to Versailles and spende the day there. A bientôt!
