Jeg snakket ikke helt sant i går da jeg sa at jeg malte kjøkkenet hvitt i fjor. 75 prosent av kjøkkenet ser slik ut, men hvis du snur deg helt rundt, ser du følgende:
I didn't tell the whole truth yesterday when I said that I painted the kitchen white last year. 75 percent of the kitchen looks like this, but if you turn around, you se the following:
Åttitallstapet og eikedører. Ikke akkurat snasent.
Wallpaper from the eighties and oak doors. Not cool at all.
Så i dag var det farvel til de slitte håndtakene og velkommen til fugepistol og sandpapir. I framtida åpnes disse dørene med en liten knott, ettersom disse håndtakene ikke er standard størrelse. Idiotisk!
So today it was goodbye worn handles and welcome caulking gun and sanding paper. In the future, these doors will be opened with a little knob, since these handles aren't standard size. Stupid!
One of the reasons that this wall hasn't been dealt with this winter, is that the doors hides a small cold attic. Even though the coldest winter temperatures have let go, still quite cold air is coming out of the cupboard. The solution for that is a duvet taped in the opening. And we also had to remove some of the wallpaper. In the corner behind the refridgerator, the wallpaper was glued around the corner onto the walls, and for those of us who watches makeover programs regularly, we know that this is no-no. Bubbly wallpaper was removed, and now the wall looks like a leopard with spotted typhus. Ok, tomorrow I'll prime, and then we have to try to cover the whole shenanigan with filler. A totally wrong method, but it has to work. At least I'm on to it.
